it was their "use this in a sentence" word for the day.

I got an email confirmation of a purchase I made today, and it made me laugh out loud.

"We are delighted to inform you that your purchase is being processed..."

(A little over-enthusiastic maybe, but hey, I'm all about happy customer service people.)

"...as you read this, your item is being plucked off the shelf."

Plucked? Seriously? They just said "Plucked"?

Wow.

Now you can say you "cup runneth over" "with joy unspeakable and full of great glory" that your item is being "plucked" from the shelf!:)

Goodness, girl, what item did you purchase? I can't see your run-of-the-mill amazon.com confirmation using words like 'delight' and 'plucked'.

Em: It was shoes, and I ordered them off of Zappos.

And Trey, my cup of amusement is certainly running over right now.

seems rather like that word might be better for a phrase such as "he plucked the arrow from his side," or something of that sort.
